A New Business Opportunity

Participating in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program makes you stand out from the crowd. Through program participation, you can take advantage of new opportunities for your business by using building science and new technology to solve heating, cooling, and building shell problems. You’ll provide your customers with more comfortable, safe, and durable homes, and help them reduce their energy use.

Knowing how to diagnose and fix whole-house problems can bring you a wider array of jobs and more referrals from satisfied customers. It’s a great way to build and expand your sales opportunities, plus give your business a competitive edge!

Incentives

As a participating contractor in Oncor’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program, you can qualify for a number of attractive incentives.

10th Job Incentive: To fully participate in the program, contractors must have at least one individual in each operating location earn BPI Building Analyst Certification. To help satisfy this requirement, Oncor is offering an incentive of $1,000* at the completion of your 10th job in the program. This incentive is intended to help offset your start-up costs.

Public Awareness Campaign: Oncor is supporting a public awareness effort to stimulate interest in Home Performance with ENERGY STAR and the contractors who are participating. Customers will be directed to participating contractors. Contractors selected by customers as a result of this marketing and communications effort will receive valuable leads at no cost to them.

Free Basic Energy Efficiency Improvements to Homeowners: Oncor will pay for contractors to install some simple measures at no cost to the customer while delivering the evaluation. These include water heater pipe insulation and hot water tank wraps. Every customer receiving a comprehensive evaluation through the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program can get immediate, free energy savings whether they proceed with more work or not.

Contractor Job Completion Bonus: In return for completing work satisfactorily and reporting it to the program, contractors will earn a job completion bonus based on the incentives paid to homeowners for installation of qualified measures. The maximum bonus is equal to:

    • 15% of homeowner incentives, or $225 per job, for homes with central AC/electric heat, or heat pump*
    • 15% of homeowner incentives, or $150 per job, for homes with central AC/gas heating*
