Oncor’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR

Home Performance with ENERGY STAR^® is for contractors who are ready to make a serious commitment to delivering energy efficiency home improvements with a whole-house approach. As a result, each contractor must properly prepare for participation in the program.

Steps required to become a participating contractor include:

1. Sign and submit the Interest Form.
2. Register and take Building Performance Institute BPI Building Analyst Training.
3. Have at least one staff person achieve BPI Building Analyst Certification.
4. Participate in a program welcome training on performing work under the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program.
5. Purchase the diagnostic equipment required to conduct evaluations and sell comprehensive work effectively.
6. Learn to use the Home Energy Advisor software, a nationally recognized tool for estimating energy savings from proposed work, producing professional reports for customers, and reporting evaluations and installed work to the program.
